Originally built in 1901, this historic Victorian estate is located in the charming city of Birmingham, Michigan. The 3,000 square-foot home sits on a corner double lot and features a separate carriage house, the winner of a Detroit Home Architectural Award.
I was given several photos to use as reference for the watercolor painting, commissioned as a Christmas gift for the homeowner. This particular view was my favorite as it really showcased the gorgeous landscaping. But the photo was taken in the evening, so I used my paintbrush to turn off the lights and turn the sky blue!
